Summer retreat in Mallnitz
Mallnitz was once a difficult-to-access Alpine valley, and the first tourists arrived more or less by chance. Today, fortunately, they no longer come by chance, but because our town is located in the heart of one of Austria's most pristine spots – the Hohe Tauern National Park.
Numerous hiking trails lead directly from our house into this impressive landscape. We are passionate mountain hikers ourselves and are happy to give our guests tips for longer or shorter tours.
And with our inclusive services, you can enjoy the national park with rest and relaxation as a complete package.
Active winter
Even in winter, holidaymakers no longer come to us in Mallnitz by chance - and haven't been for a long time. Winter sports have a long tradition in the national park location.
Nowadays it is a bit quieter - gentle winter sports are the order of the day. 25 km of cross-country trails that have been awarded the cross-country seal lead directly past the house into the idyllic Tauern and Seebach valleys. It is only a 2-minute walk to the ski bus stop and the town center with restaurants and a little après-ski.
And after a day in the fresh air, you can enjoy the newly renovated Tauernbad with free entry - really just a stone's throw away from us.

The Landhaus Rainer is the perfect place to enjoy happy holidays in cozy surroundings. We are the Wohlgemuth family and the country house is also our home. And that's exactly why we attach great importance to a balance - a balance between quiet and central location - a balance between relaxation and adventure AND a balance between nature and comfort.
The house is surrounded by a large garden, the Tauernbad Mallnitz is located almost directly next door, numerous hiking trails lead directly from our house into the wonderful mountains of the Hohe Tauern National Park and the ski bus takes you comfortably to the Ankogelbahn with a unique ski area.
